Sabbath is a beautiful term that means abstinence from work. The concept digital Sabbath means that one day a week you you avoid digital technology.

I have always wanted to go off grid for a while without any technology or screens and just read all day. But every aspect of our life being digital from work to entertainment to social life, how is it even possible to do something like this?

Since Digital Sabbath seems too tough currently, I did something else that all of us have tried at some point in our life. I deleted and deactivated all social media.

I installed Opal and they have this feature called "focus mode" which blocks all these apps through VPN and I can't even stop it for a specific time period. (You can bypass it by shutting the VPN off or deleting the app though)

Everytime I subconsciously open the browser and open Instagram, it gets blocked and I am reminded of why I took the break in the first place which makes me keep the phone down and buckle down at whatever work I was doing.

The plan is to use my time either working, writing, reading and working out instead of watching reels in the middle of night for atleast 2 weeks. I hope it works this time unlike every other attempt where I haven't even lasted for a day.
